WSTM.com - Bush wants Congress to update US intelligence laws: "Bush argues that in an age of terrorism and the Internet, the 1978 FISA (FY'-zuh) law is badly outdated. But civil libertarians don't like his proposed rewrite, and the chances of passage soon by the Democratic Congress are slim.

Lawmakers of both parties note it was only when the cover was blown that Bush reluctantly agreed to place his warrantless wiretap program under the supervision of the special intelligence court set up by the existing law."
